Russell Poole

Innovator - Visionary - Educator

An exceptional individual with a mission to share his global gifts with the world.

A Montana Poetry Day Prize-winning wordsmith, Russell has spent a lifetime in pursuit of excellence. In this instance he couples the beautiful images of our native NZ birds with equally beautiful verse.

The power of words is what drives Russell’s machine.  Though the artwork is only a small part of the whole, it is the basis for many of the 'learning structures' you can share through poolepoetry.

An almost rabid environmentalist, Russell spends long hours in Whangaparaoa's Shakespear Park, observing, listening, communing with the stunning environment around him but mostly for the birds. Through these long hours he has established relationships with the birds he portrays in their natural habitat. The bird’s trust in Russell has allowed him to record their daily lives digitally and to bring their often unseen plumage to the public.

Russell’s verses will mean different things to each of us, but they often take us on an emotional journey. His verses have the power to thrill, to transport us to another dimension, to make us think, to visualize, to appreciate and not least to relate to the story they tell. The birds are the catalyst by which the words are transported.

Ask us about the other 'learning structures', you will be excited by what you hear. The benefits are very much 'NOW' and will last for generations (please use the form below).
