Elizabeth Morrison-Dulieu

Originally from Queenstown, Elizabeth has been painting full time in Auckland for 10 years. She is a direct descendant of James Spencer, the first white settler at Bluff, who married ‘High Born’ Maori woman Mere Te Kauri.

Elizabeth is inspired by her Ngai Tahu heritage to portray legends of the southern region in her work.

For many of her recent works, she has incorporated 2mm alloy with tradition carving patterns engraved, representing an eclectic combination of the old and new.

The ‘Mechanical Oils’ series can be found in several galleries throughout NZ and in private collections in the U.K and North America.

Elizabeth has had two solo exhibitions at the Bruce Mason Center, North Shore and recently at the Amisfield Winery in Queenstown.

A large Diptych of hers is installed at the Queenstown Sofitel Hotel foyer.
