Elena Nikolaeva

Elena grew up in the Ural Mountains region of Russia. Showing artistic talent from an early age, she chose the Dept. of Design of the Urals State University for her study in Graphic Arts for five years.

Upon her move to NZ in 2001, she became a full time artist. She now lives near Mangawhai where she is actively involved in the Northland Arts Community.

She expresses her perception, her delight of the Pacific world through the unique properties of different media.

In her art, Elena seeks the essence of the Pacific in its deep inner substance: the spirit of the ocean, the spirit of the air and the spirit of the land…
