Katie Legge Katie Trinkle Legge was born in New York in 1965. She received her BFA from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia in 1988. She began exhibiting her work shortly after graduation. Eventually, painting became her fulltime career. This year she and her family relocated to Waiheke Island from Nantucket Island in the United States. Her sunlit studio in Waiheke is the perfect place for her to continue creating. Katie is a realist painter with a contemporary approach. Her bold use of color and larger than life compositions are unmistakably her own. Familiar objects are infused with drama, by capturing the light and shadows of their environment. The simple beauty of everyday life is her inspiration. She is a member of the Artists Association of Nantucket and the Waiheke Community Art Gallery. Her work continues to be exhibited in the United States.
