Kirsty Black Kirsty Black is a Christchurch based artist and designer who primarily works in acrylic and mixed media. Typically, her canvases are big, bold abstracts with vivid colours and striking patterns. She also designs handmade, 100% silk ties as well as customizable NZ made pure wool rugs for her brand Kirkle Design. Like her art the rugs capture a snapshot of brief moments in everyday life, reduced to a series of abstract lines and shapes, allowing viewers to draw on their unique experiences and imagination.
